Shared Landscapes | 2023 (in progress)

A journey of seven plays between fields and forests

With Chiara Bersani et Marco D’Agostin, El Conde de Torrefiel, Sofia Dias et Vítor Roriz, Begüm Erciyas et Daniel Kötter, Stefan Kaegi, Ari Benjamin Meyers, Émilie Rousset

What if the landscape became a theatre? What if art did not represent the environment, but instead allowed us to experience it collectively? What is at stake today in our relationship with “nature” and its representations, as the climate and our resources prompt a new awareness of our fragility and interdependence?

Caroline Barneaud and Stefan Kaegi

For Shared Landscapes S&V will create an audio-guide. They are interested in playing with perception and the way they can intertwine different elements such as fragmented texts, soundscapes, simple instructions that propose gestures and displacements, inviting the audience to experience nature through choreographic inputs. The audience will be convoked both as spectator and performer, shifting the focus of attention between details in the landscape, their own bodies or the elements surrounding them. Two voices will guide the audience through this experience in the form of an intimate dialogue between each other and the listener. Not always in accordance, these voices may give complementary instructions to the listener and also share different but simultaneous perspectives about the same events. During the audio-guide, spoken word could turn into singing which could then become a soundscape and shift again into text, generating a continuous flow of forms, themes, sounds and images. A choreographic audio-guide that calls to action and invites the audience to re-signify and question some of the relations established with nature.
